Sales Development Manager

The Local Palate magazine is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving advertising revenue through strategic partnerships with brands and businesses looking to connect with our audience.
Candidates to be considered must possess a minimum of five years’ experience in an account executive or sales management, with proven ability and knowledge selling print and digital advertisements, also including but not limited to social media, e-newsletters, and event activations, creating integrated proposals, and ensuring campaigns are fulfill clients’ needs and objectives. Client relationships within the travel and tourism, consumer products, luxury, and culinary space are beneficial, and an understanding of Southern food culture is essential. Individual must have the ability to plan for the larger picture while prioritizing immediate tasks, be an adept multi-tasker with proven communication and sales skills, and be highly motivated and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential advertising clients and generate leads to expand strong client base
  • Cultivate strong relationships with prospective clients, understand their marketing objectives and challenges and ultimately become a trusted advisor, providing insights and recommends on how The Local Palate can help achieve their advertising goals and drive results
  • Develop and executive strategic sales plans to reach targets and maximize advertising sales opportunities
  • Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments
  • Prepare proposals and presentations to deliver and sell advertising and marketing products and services tailored to each client
  • Analyze the territory/ markets’ potential, manage pipeline, forecast revenue, and track sales and status reports
  • Manage reports on customer needs, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal team members to ensure campaign objectives, deliverables, and timelines are met
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and opportunities

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development and advertising sales
  • Proven track record of generating revenue and growth across multiple media platforms
  • Strong understanding of advertising opportunities and the media industry
  • Great drive and enthusiasm
  • Ability to travel
  • Independently motivated, but with a collaborative spirit
  • Culinary familiarity and passion for travel and Southern culture
  • Proven understanding of effective budgeting, marketing, and business plans
  • Detail-oriented and deadline savvy
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Superior writing skills with ability to articulate value and media solutions
  • Flexible, with excellent time-management skills
