A Peach of a Recipe

Author and Editor Ann Thrash is a peach of a person. I was fortunate to have her as my first Charleston editor, and she was the perfect ambassador to open the door to this great Southern city. She has the charm and genteel nature that you would expect from a Lowcountry native, plus she has always been one of the kindest people I know.

My first Christmas, she gave me a copy of her cookbook, and although I’ve enjoyed many of its recipes through the years, it is the following one that I return to every summer. When the first peaches arrive at the farmers markets, I know that I have to make this first before going on to peach chutney, smoothies, and more. It’s easy, delicious, and if I have blueberries, I add them to the mix.

Since her book is out of print, she agreed to let me share the recipe with you. Once you try it, you’ll know — she really is a peach.
