With the elegant, epicurean Gourmet and Grapes event happening this coming weekend on Kiawah Island, we wanted to give you a small taste of the fabulous offerings. The fundraiser is the only one in the Lowcountry to bring together extraordinary chefs and winemakers to raise money for cancer research, and an event this unique comes with an equally exceptional menu. Friday evening’s black tie reception and multi-course dinner features the creations of Chef Justin Bogle (formerly of acclaimed New York City Restaurant Gilt) and the award-winning wines of Lionello Marchesi from Tuscany.

On Saturday afternoon, Chef Scott Crawford of the Umstead Hotel & Spa (located in Cary, North Carolina) will be presenting a multi-course luncheon, featuring wines from Jordan Winery. The guest chef will describe and provide demonstrations of the dishes he serves (such as spiced venison with parsnip, apple, bacon, chestnut, and hickory and an imaginative take on chocolate terrine with…sunchokes?) Of course, specially selected wines will accompany each course.
The Santuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort is pleased to host this annual event to benefit the Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina. Join them both for the most exquisite of experiences and to support an excellent cause.
