GEMS FROM THE GARDEN MAKE AN EXCELLENT COCKTAIL
John Aquino, mixologist at Coast Bar & Grill in Charleston, SC concocted this flavorful summer sipper. The peach, mint, and jalapeño all come from Aquino’s garden, which makes this a delightful homegrown treat, one that you can easily reproduce yourself. While watching Aquino make this drink we were intrigued by his step calling for the jalapeño to be run along the rim of the glass. He explained that this allows the first sip to have a little kick to it—a kick that gets stronger with each sip as the pepper continues to mellow in the drink. Whether you drink it quickly to catch the refreshing essence of the peach, or take your time sipping to amp up the heat, this drink is sure to quench your thirst.
