My next door neighbors are from India and I have been shamelessly hinting at a dinner invitation for years. I have also asked her to bring spices home from India but she says that everything that we need to make great Indian food we can find here in the States.

That’s lucky. After many decadent meals of turkeys, rib roasts and mashed potatoes, I am hungry for a bit of variety. Lavanya Sabin, of Lavanya House, has shared several recipes with us which can give us all that variety. Start your exotic meal with a spicy chicken tikka and potato cakes and finish with a sublime coconut pie.
