If you’re an aspiring home bartender, what better time to showcase your cocktail prowess than when entertaining for the holidays? Scott Blackwell of High Wire Distillery in Charleston, South Carolina, has taken the guesswork out of creating the perfect party cocktail with his recipe for The Cranberry Smash, a cocktail as beautiful as it is tasty. The smash combines cranberry simple syrup made with fresh cranberries, orange peel and cinnamon with High Wire’s flagship spirit, Hat Trick Botanical Gin. Scott wanted to make the cocktail party-friendly, so the cranberry syrup can be made in a large batch ahead of time and held in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. You can also mix it up as a punch!
