Prohibition Frozen Irish Coffee

The Frozen Irish Coffee was created at Prohibition in Charleston by  head bartender, Jim McCourt. Jim hails from Northern Ireland, but moved stateside when he was 21. This heritage combined with an expertise in all things whiskey led Jim to create a delicious frozen Irish coffee cocktail.

    Cocktail
  • 1 ounce Jameson whiskey
  • 1 ounce Tia Maria liqueur
  • 4 ounces strong brewed coffee
  • cooled
  • 1 scoop ice
  • 1 teaspoon Demerara sugar
  • Bailey’s whipped cream

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 ounce Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Cocktail

  1. Add ingredients to a blender and blend for 20 seconds, pour into daiquiri style glass and top with Baileys whipped cream.
  2. Drizzle crème de menthe syrup and shaved chocolate on top, and serve.

Bailey’s Whipped Cream

  1. Whisk together until it creates stiff peaks.
