yields

4 appetizer servings

    ingredients
  • 8 slices pecan whole wheat bread, sliced to 1-inch thickness
  • Extra virgin olive oil, as desired
  • Fine sea salt, as desired
  • 4 local peaches, sliced
  • Several thin slices of Benton’s country ham
  • ⅓ pound Brie, softened (from Charleston Cheesehouse, if possible)
  • 1 ounce local honey
  • 2 ounces local arugula
steps
  1. Slice bread, drizzle with oil, and season with salt. Grill lightly on both sides until crisp and barely charred. Toasting is an acceptable alternative if grilling is not an option.
  2. Slather bread moderately with softened Brie. Arrange country ham and peaches on top. Follow with a little bit of arugula and finish with a light drizzle of honey. Serve immediately.
