An In-Your-Face Awesome Meatless Monday

Earlier this summer in Savannah, Georgia, I had the opportunity to eat one of the best vegetarian dishes I’ve ever tasted—Local 11ten’s Creamed, Asparagus-Stuffed Socca with a Roasted Artichoke, Tomato and Almond Ragout. Topped with a soft-boiled egg, it was one of those bites that kind of made me close my eyes and smile.

This was going to be great for the blog, I thought, and requested the recipe soon after. Dear fellow foodies, there is a reason it was so good! The level of complication and ingredient list (chickpea flour et al) made me reconsider sharing it here.

Instead, Chef Brandy Williamson provides another recipe from Soho South Café, a sister restaurant to Local 1110. “It’s a bit easier for the home cook, but the flavors are still in-your-face awesome,” she says.

Agreed. Try this at home, then visit Local 1110 for the Socca and let me know how it ranks among your meatless meals.
