Watermelon is everywhere right now, and it seems like moonshine is also. Jesse Goldstein from the Loveless Café had this to say when sharing this exclusive mixture with us: “This cocktail was created by the staff at the Loveless Café during the June heat wave and is the perfect refresher for a hot day! With such a rich history here in Tennessee, moonshine was a natural fit to our menu and has become quite popular with our guests!” We have a feeling it will be quite popular with our readers as well.

Watermelon is undeniably an American tradition. The staff at PS 7’s in Washington, D.C. readily helped us translate this notable favorite into a unique and modern drink. Gin and vermouth, watermelon and cucumber, rhubarb and powdered sugar–several unique pairings add up to a clean, fresh libation. This one is sure to bring back good memories of summer afternoons spent chewing watermelon down to the rind. A garnish of fresh basil adds the perfect earthy element, making this an essential drink on your summer menu.
