CELEBRATE A BOURBON BONANZA
While debates may rage over the origins of barbeque or Brunswick stew, it is clear that bourbon belongs to Kentucky. Indeed, the celebrated title of Bourbon Capital of the World has been bestowed upon Bardstown, Kentucky. One might say that this particular brand of Southerners takes their amber-hued spirit quite seriously, and the best way to honor such an important component of the state is to celebrate it with a giant festival.
The Kentucky Bourbon Festival will take place from September 11-16 in, you guessed it, Bardstown, Kentucky. The Festival allows for the 6 full days of smooth, easy-drinking bourbon, delicious food, and live entertainment. Activities and events span from black tie galas to historical tours ensuring there is a little something for everyone. Watch as craftsmen share the art of creating special oak barrels for aging bourbon and infusing that distinct flavor you have come to know and love. Or meet the legendary Master Distillers and Ambassadors from the KDA to hear how some of your favorite elixirs are made.
But the fun is not limited to the Festival. Historic Bardstown is a beautiful city with plenty for you to do. Wander around the charming shops or grab a meal at one of their scrumptious family friendly restaurants. Find your way back to the Festival for more bourbon imbibing after your sojourn into town.
