5, 4, 3, 2, 1! It’s almost that time. The champagne is in stock, the confetti is prepped…all that’s left is for you to make your New Year’s Eve plans! We never like to let an opportunity for a tasty party pass us by, so we put together a list of our favorite spots in Charleston for drinking, eating, and ringing in 2013. Whether you are looking to share an intimate multi-course meal with your midnight kiss, or party like a rock star with all your best friends, you’ll find someone to suit your New Year’s fancy here. We’ve divided our picks into three categories, based on price and atmosphere—so, we’re sure you’ll know right away which is the one for you!

Big Spenders
(& Eaters!)

Circa 1866 / Celebrate the arrival of 2013 at Circa 1886 with their six-course prix fixe New Year’s Eve dinner. Each meal includes a glass of champagne. Diners can expect to see such dishes as truffle goat cheese panna cotta and roasted buffalo tenderloin served with maple chestnut stuffing, celery root puree, acorn squash and cranberry demi glace on the menu.

82 Queen / If you’re looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown Charleston on New Year’s Eve, hide away at this classic restaurant for a delicious meal. 82 Queen will be offering their regular dinner menu with the addition of special New Year’s Eve inspired dishes. Savor your meal so that you be there for midnight and a champagne toast!

Charleston Grill / Toast goodbye to 2012 in high-style with the choice of multiple tasting menus at the famous Charleston Grill. Their first seating at 5:30pm will include four courses and their second seating, at 9pm, will have five, each including choices. Through out the night guests will enjoy live jazz in the dining room and the guests lucky enough to be there at midnight will receive party favors and complimentary champagne.

McCrady’s / Make your way down Unity Alley to McCrady’s to greet the New Year in true gastronomic style. McCrady’s will be serving their regular four-course dinner but in honor of the occasion they will also be featuring a twelve-course chef’s tasting menu experience. Wine pairings are also available for an additional cost. Perfect fit for even the most discerning foodie, a dinner at McCrady’s the perfect end to 2012.

Committed Cocktail Crowd

Cocktail Club / There’s no need to be a member of any club to join in on this party. The Cocktail Club will be hosting their New Year’s Eve party all night long, complete with an open bar, hors d’oeuvres and a champagne toast at midnight. Guests can also enjoy five hours of live music by Eric Penrod & Tim Davis and Brent Pace for Mayor.

Republic Reign / Marking the much-awaited opening of this new King Street establishment, Republic Reign is proud to present their first annual New Year’s Eve event. The party promises to bring guests the opportunity to experience the gold standard in hospitality. Republic gives guests more than one way to partake in the party: general admission includes hors d’oeuvres and a champagne fountain, VIP table service accommodates six guests per table and comes with heavy hors d’oeuvres and your own VIP hostess. No matter what option you decide on, you will be able to enjoy the band and DJ entertainment all night long.

O-Ku / O-Ku will have regular dinner service until 9:30pm on New Year’s Eve and then the real party begins. The restaurant’s annual New Year’s Eve fete is sure to be a good time featuring live entertainment from DJ Son. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and other Lowcountry fare with an exotic twist, as well as drinks, all evening long. At midnight enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne, then continue dance the night away.

Laid-Back Food Lovers

Barsa / The New Year’s Eve Masquerade party at Barsa is back and this year it promises to be better than ever. There will be live music by Whiskey Diablo, a photo booth with Babe Rouge, and even a prize for the best masquerade costume—so come dressed to impress! Cru Café / Ring in a delicious new year with Cru Café. The restaurant will serve two seatings on the 31st with flavorful dishes. Savor delicious plates like crispy pork belly and seared scallops with oyster mushrooms and truffle honey, or grilled short rib and lobster satay with local bibb lettuce, tarragon vinaigrette. This will certainly be a tasty way to end the year.

Tattoed Moose  / The Tattooed Moose is hosting a “Funky New Year’s Eve” that will be a great time for all. The amazing funk and jazz band, Bill Wilson & the Secret Ingredients will be providing the entertainment and there will be food and drink specials all night long.
