Fall is a season for change, from the leaves on the trees to the beverage in our glass. During this wonderful time of year we find ourselves prepared to sling aside summer Sangrias, and other cocktails made for hot weather sipping, but not quite ready to replace them with Eggnog and mistletoe. Joe Raja of the Gin Joint, a speakeasy-themed bar in Downtown Charleston, is on the case and his answer to this culinary conundrum is Mr. Pumpkin, a drink that brings together the fun fall flavors of pumpkin & spice. This feature on the fall menu at the Gin Joint is a new take on an old classic, the ale flip.
Traditionally, the ale flip is concocted using spirits, egg, sugar, and spice. Happily, Joe has taken it a step further by adding pumpkin to the mix. Mr. Pumpkin is the perfect companion for this cool weather season and a welcome addition to your cocktail repertoire.
