This November, the Portuguese city of Porto will play host to the inaugural Melting Gastronomy Summit, a global gathering centered on discussions of food and wine, biodiversity and sustainability, entrepreneurship and agro-tourism. The international-inspired event will include tastings, live cooking demonstrations, and the flagship Melting Dinner, all hosted by the Portuguese Association for the Promotion of Gastronomy, Wines, Regional Products, and Biodiversity.
Topics for the weekend’s lectures and panel discussions include: an introduction into the sense of gastronomy with Rafael Ansón of the European Academy of Gastronomy; the ten food commandments with Jay Rayner, gastronomic critic for the Guardian; and the impact of gastronomy on agriculture.
