Synonymous with “speakeasy,” the term “blind tiger” began as a ruse. Pay to see a blind tiger (or blind pig) and receive a complimentary beverage as a thank you. It was easy, and who could say if one stayed long enough to enjoy a second beverage? There was a tiger behind the door, which made it difficult to keep track of such things.
There’s a tiger behind the door as well at Cooks & Soldiers, a new Hotlanta spot that won’t stay under the radar for very long. This concoction packs a punch but dresses it up with a dash of bubbles and a maple kiss. Enjoy with a dose of respect since a blind tiger is still a beast after all.
