This recipe from Blue Note Bourbon gives the typical old fashioned a smoky, fruity kick with the addition of muddled fig. This brings about flavors similar to the traditional winter figgy pudding, but with booze. For the orange and cherry bitters, TLP recommends using Woodford Reserve bitters.

    Ingredients
  • Muddled fig
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • Dash orange and cherry bitters
  • 2 ounces Blue Note Crossroads
  • or any bourbon
  • Charred orange slice
  • garnish
steps
  1. In a chilled rocks glass, muddle fig with simple syrup and bitters. Top with ice and bourbon, and stir. Serve with a charred orange slice.
