I Am Having Ridiculous Thoughts

Ingredients

1 ounce Cranberry Business (recipe follows)

¾ ounce bourbon

¼ ounce Royal Combier

Sparkling wine

Garnish: Orange peel

Cranberry Business

1 quart cranberry juice

Peel of 1 orange, pith scraped away

1 tablespoon ground cloves

1 star anise pod

1 tablespoon allspice

1 cinnamon stick

1 cup sugar

Directions

In a cocktail tin, combine first three ingredients with ice and shake. Strain into a white wine glass, top with sparkling wine, and garnish with orange peel.

Cranberry Business

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients except sugar. Bring mixture to a simmer, add sugar, and whisk until dissolved. Let simmer for 45 minutes (mixture should reduce slightly), then strain and cool.
