Mordecai’s Medicine


2 ounces Old Weller Antique Bourbon

¾ ounce Maple Syrup

¼ ounce Pimento Dram

3 dashes Angostura bitters

Brown Sugar Rim

⅓ cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon kosher salt

¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper


  1. Rim double old fashioned glass with the brown sugar mixture.
  2. Add one large ice cube to glass.
  3. Combine ingredients in shaker, add ice and shake.
  4. Double strain over ice cube.
  5. Flame orange peel over drink for garnish.
