yields

2 1-liter bottles

    Ingredients
  • 10 organic lemons
  • One-liter vodka
  • 15 spoons sugar
  • Two cups of water
steps
  1. Wash the lemons well. Peel the zest of the lemons (use just the yellow part as the white part gives a bitter taste).
  2. Combine the lemon zest and the vodka in the dark bottles and keep in a dark cool place for two weeks.
  3. After two weeks, boil two cups of water and add sugar to dissolve. Add sugar water (simple syrup) to the bottles with lemon zest and vodka. Filter the liquor with a strainer or cheesecloth. Store for two additional weeks if you can!

Note: Store the finished Limoncello in your freezer. If the Limoncello freezes you added too much water. Keep your tiny limoncello glasses frosted in the freezer as well for an added zing!
