Gather ’round 2022 Returns to Atlanta
Join the South’s leading chefs, artists, makers, and musicians for a four-day celebration of Southern food and music in Atlanta! Gather ‘round, September 29 through October 2, brings the region’s flavors and culinary diversity to select locations in Atlanta’s west side. Each day is immersed in food, drink, and culture, and event proceeds benefit Giving Kitchen, a nonprofit that provides emergency assistance for food service workers, and Speed Rack, a bartending competition that empowers women in the bar industry.
Gather ‘round kicks off with an opening party at Guardian Works at Echo Street West, on Thursday, September 29. In addition to nearly forty food and drink stations, the opening party includes a tasting experience of the region’s breweries, a DJ-guided cocktail and music pairing session guided, and an art exhibition.
The following days of Gather ‘round feature master classes, such as a technique sessions with top local bartenders to craft drinks like the pros and sip them like a savant, along with signature dinners hosted by beloved restaurants around Atlanta.
A variety of themes shape the music and food at these multi-course meals: Step inside La Palapa at El Ponce and be transported on a journey studying the history of Mexican cuisine, accented by live music from DJ Rasta Root. Or, let acclaimed chefs Cedric McCroery, Demetrius Brown, Allen Sun, Arield Powell, and Ray Samson take you on a gastronomical tour of the Mississippi Delta where soul inspires both the music and the food. For the event goer who wants a little bit of it all, go wild with a ten-course meal (complete with drink pairings) prepared by chefs from around the East coast, including Brittanny Anderson, Ferrell Alvarez, Michael Gulotta, Rebecca Masson, Erika Moore, Raquel Ravenell, and J’Nai Williams.
The weekend culminates in a disco day party at Westside Motor Lounge, featuring a Speed Rack bartending competition on its first of four regional tour stops. Learn more about the individual events and reserve your tickets at the Gather 'round website.
