Gourmet & Grapes brings some of the South’s top culinary talent and award-winning wineries to Kiawah Island’s Sanctuary Hotel in the name of cancer research. This year will kick off with a barbecue and bourbon feast, Gourmet & Grains— with pours overseen by Drew Kulsveen, the master distiller at family-owned Willett Distillery— while Friday brings the black-tie Epicurean Affair dinner at the Sanctuary’s Ocean Room restaurant. Follow it up with a VIP whiskey tasting hosted by the Local Palate. 

For the active crowd, there’s Saturday morning’s bike ride around the island leading up to a champagne toast; meanwhile, the swanky set can pop bottles at the Champagne and caviar brunch.

The weekend’s flagship Wine Odyssey Gala returns with tastings from a star-studded cast of Southern chefs. The evening’s wine options include everything from regional heavy-hitters like AIX of France’s Aix en Provence; Seattle’s Chateau Ste. Michelle and Napa Valley mainstay Duckhorn Vineyards to small-scale operations like Grassroots Wine in Alabama and South Carolina.
