Annabelle Tometich spent 18 years as the restaurant critic for The News-Press in Fort Myers, Florida, where she grew up. Her memoir, The Mango Tree: A Memoir of Fruit, Florida, and Felony (Little, Brown, April 2024) tells the story of her childhood in Florida as the child of a Filipina mother and a white father, and won the 2025 Southern Book Prize for nonfiction.
