Joye! in Aiken

Named for a Gilded Age mansion that once hosted private performances for the nation’s wealthiest, this nonprofit has been making the world’s greatest artists accessible to the Aiken community since 2008. Since its inception, more than 600 musicians, actors, and dancers have traveled to town for the performing arts festival each March. These events are available to the public at littleto no cost, and the organization’s educational outreach program has enabled thousands of schoolchildren in the area to be mentored by these artists, who primarily hail from Juilliard. A plethora of other events take place throughout the year, including concerts, fundraisers, and a jazz camp for aspiring young artists.
