The building that houses the Kimpton Brice was many things before becoming a hotel—a livery stable and Coca-Cola bottling plant among them—and the latest redesign, which wrapped up in spring 2023, honors elements of that history. The complete refresh has given the guest rooms, lobby, and public spaces a new look and feel, meant to draw you in with moments of Southern hospitality, complete with the memorable moments of whimsy Kimpton-branded hotels are known for.
The intimate lobby and stoned terrace are social spaces where cozy seating, iron rod artwork, and books and objects on display making the whole space feel like a chic friend’s living room—head there for Social Hour each afternoon for a complimentary glass of wine and light bites, like slices of margherita flatbread. Beyond the terrace, you’ll find a private pool, which feels like an oasis with its colorful mural and mobile snack truck named Daisy. The 145 rooms, including 25 suites, meanwhile, are comfortably designed with a gray-and-white color palette that pops with hits of color, like inside the fuschia-lined armoire. Request a king suite with a private balcony for views out over the pool or terrace.
Open for breakfast and dinner, the on-site restaurant Pacci Italian Kitchen + Bar recently welcomed new executive chef Jacob Barlow who puts out a menu of craveable Italian-meets-Southern dishes like shrimp scampi, peach and burrata caprese, and Coca-Cola and amaretto apple cake (a nod to the building’s past). Grab a seat in one of the banquettes and gaze out over the lush tiling and bar scene.
Don’t miss: The pool terrace is a private escape with chaise lounge chairs and striped umbrellas but we also love the relaxing terrace just beyond the lobby for a place to sip and snack between meals.
