The Nickel Hotel
A lux boutique hotel in the heart of Charleston's King Street
By: Erin Byers Murray

Set along the heart of Charleston’s King Street, The Nickel, sibling hotel to The Pinch, brings the Method Co.’s signature pied-a-terre vibes a little further uptown. The hotel took over the former Dixie Furniture space, which went through a complete overhaul and now includes 50 rooms centered on an open courtyard, as well as a rooftop bar and restaurant. The petite, lushly appointed lobby, where guests receive a welcome cocktail at check-in, sets the mood with velvet-lined seating and a gem-colored palette that extends throughout the hotel. The rooms are built for longer stays, with fully outfitted kitchenettes, washers and dryers, and generous closet space. The courtyard feels like it was plucked from the French Quarter of New Orleans with its fountain, draping greenery, and bistro seating. On the second floor, the library-like Bar Daniel is open for cocktails (it’s also where you’ll find coffee in the mornings), while Rosemary Rose, the indoor-outdoor rooftop restaurant, has one of the strip’s cushiest alfresco patios and a menu of seasonal Mediterranean-inspired plate.
- On-Site Dining
Rosemary Rose, a lounge, bar, and outdoor patio, has a lived-in elegance and makes the perfect spot for sipping on a glass of something sparkling while enjoying views of the city. Look for shrimp remoulade, chickpea fritters, and an amaro affogato on the menu. Bar Daniel is the site for coffee and pastries at breakfast time and transitions into a relaxed cocktail den in the evenings. - Neighborhood
King Street and its many restaurants, galleries, and shops are at your doorstep here, putting guests in a central spot to enjoy all of downtown Charleston. - Amenities
Borrow a bike to explore downtown, take advantage of the MUSC Wellness Center with a daily pass, or stock your luxury kitchen by having the on-site team put in an order of groceries, which will be loaded into your fridge on arrival. - Don’t Miss
Request a room with a balcony to enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the courtyard with views out to Charleston’s church- steepled skyline.
