A relaxing refuge on the Sunshine Strip

The Neighborhood:

In the heart of Miami Beach, but two short blocks off Collins Avenue— The Plymouth Hotel is a respite from the main drag.

The Vibe:

This is not the big splashy lobby to see and be seen. If that’s your scene, head over to sister property 1 Hotel where the lobby bar Drift is all flash and flair—a five-minute walk away.

The Digs:

With a private beach, sequestered pool, and bedroom balconies, there are plenty of places to soak up the sun. But the most sumptuous of all spots can be found in your suite, where the bed offers cloud like comfort. From your terrace you might have a view of Collins Park, part of the Historic Museum District, replete with colorful sculptures and picturesque green space.

Dining In

Sushi in Miami Beach is not hard to come by—there seems to be a tempting spot offering raw fish around every corner. But Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill  in the Plymouth adds a spin with the addition of dishes like oxtail fried rice and fried chicken with wasabi honey, the latter being a specialty of the house. You’ll find the sushi standards and a wide-range of sashimi on the menu, as well as more creative combinations, like lobster and black caviar maki. Let the chef decide and be rewarded with an omakase spread full of surprising flavors.

Sushi from Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill

Complementing the South-meets-sushi vibe is a wide variety of sake selections and a cocktail menu that skews refreshing. The Cucumber-Hi, for instance, is simply shochu, cucumber juice, and honey simple syrup. The Plymouth Voyager—gin, yuzu, creme de cacao, coconut water and soda water—provides some welcome hydration to offset the alcohol. Beyond Blue Ribbon, the Seasons Café provides poolside sustenance such as burgers, fish tacos, and plenty of salads and sides. While cozied up in your cabana, you’ll need liquid refreshment: good thing the Midnight Spritz (vodka, Aperol, St-Germain, and lemon), despite its name, is appropriate any time.

Insider Tip: Fast track your relaxation with a Singapore massage at the Setai, just around the corner.
