The Local Palate is a Southern food culture magazine that tells the stories behind the people, places, and foodways that make up this diverse and dynamic culinary region. We explore Southern recipes, traditions, artisanal products, makers, chefs, getaways, and communities, and use food as a lens to better understand this rich, storied region.
Our Print Issues
We print 4 seasonal issues per year (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) and 4 special-interest culinary travel-focused publications. We plan our editorial content 6-9 months in advance. Pitches are submitted through our online form and should include:
- Why the pitch is well-suited for TLP
- What column(s) you envision as a fit and why
- Exclusivity and timeline expectations
A note about previous publication and AI:
The Local Palate does not accept material that has been previously published. We ask that writers submit pitches and write pieces that are created without the use of AI.
