Tucked into a corner of North Myrtle Beach’s Barefoot Landing, Crooked Hammock Brewery feels less like a restaurant and more like a fun backyard barbecue. There’s a hammock or two (of course), cornhole in the yard and plenty of outdoor space to sprawl out with friends and family. With its house-brewed beer lineup and easygoing but flavor-packed menu, Crooked Hammock has carved out a niche as one of the Grand Strand’s go-to hangouts.

What’s Good Here?
The menu hits that sweet spot between comfort food and creativity. You’ll want to start with the Old Bay Crab Dip, a warm, creamy mix of blue crab and ricotta that’s served with soft pretzel bread that is dusted in Old Bay. The watermelon – or to be 100% menu accurate, the “WATERMELON!!!” – is well worth the hype. Fresh cut and topped with queso fresco, tajin and cilantro, it’s a flavor bomb.
From there, it’s hard to go wrong. The Longboard Nachos comes piled high with melty cheese, chipotle crema and pickled jalapeños, while the Shrimp & Lobster Cakes brings a little coastal flair to the table. And since this is a brewery, don’t sleep on the beer list: the Hammock Light is crisp and sessionable, while the South To Somewhere coconut golden ale packs a breezy tropical flavor. Not into beer? The classic cocktails are prepared exceptionally well, but something simple like the Hard Pink Lemonade on tap always hits on a hot day.
What’s the Vibe?
Crooked Hammock doesn’t try too hard – and that’s exactly the point. The vibe is airy and unfussy, with picnic tables, string lights and a relaxed layout that invites you to stay a little longer than you planned. The crowd is a healthy mix of locals, visitors and families, and the staff keeps things upbeat. One of the best seats in the house? At Tortuga Island, a floating 360-degree bar that’s perfect for golden hour beers.
Add in live music, lawn games and a menu that holds its own, and you’ve got a place that doesn’t just talk the “laid-back lifestyle” talk – it walks it, barefoot.
