Apple Crumble topped with ice cream

    For the filling:
  • 4 large pink lady apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • For the topping:
  • 1 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1¼ cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoons salt
  • 8 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
steps
  1. Make the filling: In large bowl, mix ingredients until well combined. Set aside.
  2. Make the topping: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In medium bowl, combine walnuts, flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt. Using a fork or your hands, thoroughly incorporate butter into mixture.
  3. To assemble: Transfer apple filling to 9-inch-square baking dish. Top evenly with oat mixture and bake until golden and bubbling, about 45 minutes.
