Charleston Wine and Food is back, and the 2022 lineup is bigger and better than ever before. This five-day event showcases all that Charleston has to offer, infusing homegrown flavor with top chefs, winemakers, authors, storytellers, artisans, experts, and food enthusiasts from around the globe. This year’s schedule features 100-plus unique experiences, and these mouthwatering events are ones you’ll want on your radar and your calendar.
Thursday, March 3
Here in the Lowcountry, we revere the land and the waterways. This elevated afternoon event celebrates our unique passions for both. The wafts of woodsmoke carry you into a new head space at the beloved Bowens Island, where you will enjoy surf + turf as expressed by top chefs. With bites sourced from South Carolina, bold wines and brown water, a classic Bowens Island sunset, and a few hours of outdoor revelry you’ll feel inspired, too!
Friday, March 4
Leave your watch at home; we’re going on island time. The Caribbean is a giant melting pot of flavors; with influence coming from India, Africa, Asia, and Europe, this world cuisine stands on its own. Gather on the beach as the tide rolls in for this island-inspired party. Top bartenders will be spiking the punch recipe, err… concocting cocktails, paying homage to the classics like Planters Punch which celebrates Charleston’s shared West Indian and Carolina cultures. A crew of chefs with deep Caribbean roots will dish up top-notch fare featuring bold, fresh, and flavorful profiles straight from the islands. Set to the backdrop of reggae music this party is sure to pack a punch.
Friday, March 4
Play that funky music, drink that pizza wine. This isn’t your average pizza party; boutique, biodynamic, natural, and sustainable winemakers will be the focus of this funk-tastic pizza party, where you’ll unlock the secrets of which natural wines go best with your favorite pie. Natural wine pairings will leave you feeling funky and fermented, while local and regional favorites–Dough Boyz, Renzo, Welton’s Fine Foods, High Pies, Uptown Social, and Pizzeria Vittoria to name a few–will have their eyes on the pies. Fuel up on wine and ‘za before busting a move on the dance floor. This pizza party will ‘naturally’ put you ahead of the trend!
Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5
Music and food are connectors. They go hand in hand in building community, and they bring people together over shared experiences, cultural differences, and powerful storytelling. Music has always been a cornerstone of the festival and is a key component of the experiences we create. Don’t end your night at sunset; join us for NightCap, the largest music and food pairing the festival has ever seen.
On Friday night, headliner Lake Street Dive is bringing its acclaimed sound influenced by pop, rock, R&B and jazz into one energetic, cohesive show. On Saturday, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, the Southern soul phenoms out of Birmingham, AL will co-headline the show along with Grammy-nominated Tank and the Bangas and their New Orleans rock-R&B-soul vibe.
Music lovers–bundle and save on a ticket to each night of NightCap. This music-flavored evening is putting the ‘fest’ in festival.
Saturday, March 5
