Beaufort International Film Festival

Once known as the Film Capital of the South, Beaufort continues to shine the spotlight on movies and movie making with the Beaufort International Film Festival.

Local film buffs and professional film producers Ron and Rebecca Tucker originally created BIFF in 2007 to encourage filmmakers to continue using the Lowcountry as a backdrop for their films. Today, BIFF is a darling in the film festival circuit and has consistently been rated as one of the top 100 film festivals in the world.

“BIFF is a destination attraction,” says Ron. “For local residents and tourists alike, the cultural stimulation from a talented collection of artists who bring films that inspire, enlighten, entertain, incite, infuriate, awaken, and educate is a strong draw.”

For six days each February, BIFF features dozens of shorts, documentaries, student films, and full-length films, along with workshops, receptions, and award ceremonies, bringing a touch of Hollywood to the Lowcountry.
