Tupelo Down on Main

Tupelo is ready to celebrate with a night of incredible music, community, and history. Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association and Tupelo Convention & Visitors Bureau will host a special Celebrate Tupelo 2025 Down on Main concert September 26, 2025, from 7-11 p.m. The free concert, held in Downtown Tupelo’s Fairpark, will honor the anniversary of Elvis’ 1956 Homecoming concert while celebrating Mississippi’s rich musical heritage.

This concert is a key part of the larger Celebrate Tupelo 2025 initiative, a yearlong journey of programs and events designed to capture the city’s unique spirit. This year’s campaign, honoring Elvis’ 90th birthday, also highlights major milestone anniversaries of some of Tupelo’s most iconic people and places. Each month offers unique experiences that capture the heart and soul of the city, and the Down on Main concert is a perfect example of it’s legacy. It’s an opportunity for citizens and visitors alike to come together and celebrate the city’s past while looking forward to its vibrant future.

The night’s music begins at 7 p.m. with Tupelo-native blues musician John Clayton White. White will get the crowd warmed up with his signature sound before making way for the next act. At 8:15 p.m., the stage will welcome Cedric Burnside, bringing his renowned North Mississippi Hill Country blues to Fairpark. The night will come to a powerful close with the headliner, Paul Thorn, who will captivate the audience with his special blend of Americana music starting at 9:30 p.m.

In addition to the fantastic musical lineup, local food trucks will be on site throughout the event, offering a variety of delicious options to enjoy during the performances.
