    ingredients
  • For the donuts:
  • 1 1⁄4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
  • 1⁄4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1⁄2 cup buttermilk
  • 1⁄4 cup butter, melted
  • 1⁄4 cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
steps

Special equipment: Donut pan, piping bag

1. Make the donuts: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a donut pan with cooking spray and set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, buttermilk, melted butter, Fireball whiskey, and vanilla. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing just until combined.
3. Add batter to a piping bag. Fill each mold of prepared donut pan about three-quarters full. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Donuts should spring back lightly when touched. Let donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
4. Make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and Fireball whiskey until smooth. Add a splash of milk if needed for drizzling consistency. Dip cooled donuts into glaze or drizzle it over top.

Tailgate Tip: Donuts can be made the night before and packed in a bakery box or biscuit tin. Serve with spiked coffee, cider, or Fireball cocktails for the perfect pairing.
