Blood Orange Margarita

Got a bag of blood oranges at the store and now not sure what to do with all of them? Mex 1 Coastal Cantina in Charleston shared their fan favorite blood orange margarita recipe. It’s essentially a Tommy’s margarita, plus the addition of fresh blood orange juice and blood orange liqueur. It requires minimal ingredients to shake up this fruit-forward sipper.

Makes 1 drink

    Ingredients
  • 1½ ounce reposado tequila
  • ½ ounce blood orange liqueur
  • 1½ ounce blood orange juice
  • ½ ounce lime juice
  • ¾ simple syrup or agave
  • Salt, for rimming
steps

In a cocktail tin filled with ice, combine all ingredients and shake vigorously until cold, 5 to 10 seconds. Set aside. Rim a pint or rocks glass with salt and fill with fresh ice. Strain cocktail into glass.
