Downunder

Downunder, an Aussie-owned gem at the end of an unassuming staircase in Downtown Tupelo, Mississippi, offers a distinctive blend of international pub grub and handcrafted cocktails with a unique flair.

Chef Josh Livesay’s menu includes flavors from Australia and around the world. The classic Aussie meat pie and wagyu burger are both Australian-inspired eats and favorites include the butter chicken and Caribbean jerk pork ribeye. Livesay’s weekend specials are truly unparalleled, offering a one-of-a-kind dining experience. From pork belly cavatappi with mushrooms and broccolini and tuna tartare, to crispy barramundi curry and bulgogi fried rice with Korean BBQ flank steak, Downunder is a fascinating addition to Tupelo’s thriving culinary scene.

Downunder smoky cocktail

While their food is exceptional, the restaurant’s craft cocktails are renowned. The Blue Suede Smash is made with Whistle Pig rye, lemon, basil syrup, and blueberries, while The Joey includes coffee-infused bourbon, vanilla syrup, black walnut bitters, egg white, and roasted coffee beans.

Downunder is featured on Tupelo’s Cocktail Trail. Their signature cocktail is The Burnout, made with bourbon, Grand Marnier, ginger syrup, lemon juice, smoke, ginger & grapefruit bitters, and flamed orange. The Cocktail Trail takes you to seven Downtown Tupelo restaurants, each serving a signature libation. Complete the trail and pick up your free #MyTupelo cocktail shaker at the Tupelo Visitors Center.

Tupelo is home to over 200 restaurants, offering matchless culinary experiences around every corner. To learn more about Downunder and Tupelo’s other epicurean eats, visit tupelo.net/food-drink.
