Sweet Tea & Biscuits

A little bit of nostalgia & a whole lot of love

Sweet Tea & Biscuits

The essence of Southern hospitality can be found in a cozy café on McCullough Boulevard in Tupelo, Mississippi. Sweet Tea & Biscuits Café serves homemade southern favorites at lunch Tuesday through Saturday. Sisters Beverly Blaylock and Joan Lansdell prepare dishes from recipes passed down from their mother, serving up a little bit of nostalgia and a whole lot of love.

Sweet tea

Sweet Tea & Biscuits Café has a fresh, daily menu of homemade fare. Whether it’s meatloaf, chicken and dressing, hamburger steaks, or creamy chicken spaghetti, every dish is prepared in-house under the purview of Blaylock and Lansdell. A quiche of the day, homemade soup, and a fresh vegetable plate round out the daily specials that are only available as long as they last.

The café has a full menu that includes favorites such as the fried green tomato BLT, a delicious sandwich served on toasted sourdough with homemade pimento cheese, smoked bacon, lettuce, and fried green tomatoes. The salad trio is another favorite that gives patrons the chance to pick three from the café’s homemade selections.

While the famous tea is as sweet as it gets, the decadent desserts at Sweet Tea & Biscuits café literally take the cake. Lemon cream cake, coconut cake, chocolate meringue pie and buttermilk pie are just a few of the sweet treats that rotate through the dessert menu. The ladies also stock a full freezer of homemade casseroles and desserts to take home. The restaurant is located in the back of The Marketplace at Sweet Tea & Biscuits, allowing patrons the opportunity to walk off all of those calories while perusing booths filled with antiques, clothing, and accessories.

Tupelo is home to over 200 restaurants, offering matchless culinary experiences around every corner. To learn more about Sweet Tea & Biscuits Cafe and Tupelo’s other epicurean eats, visit tupelo.net/food-drink.
