With a new and improved 10-mile mountain biking trail, Lincoln Parish Park was recently voted the best mountain bike park in the country.
“Lincoln Parish Park has been known as a cross-country mountain bike destination for over 30 years,” said James Ramsaur, the director of Lincoln Parish Park. “With the new downhill flow trails, duel slalom, and skills course we now offer greater variety for mountain bike enthusiast.”

Walking Paths and Fishing Spots
The park is for cyclists and non-cyclists alike, with a 1.25-mile walking path around the gorgeous Hoogland Lake, the largest lake in the park. Take a serene walk with stunning views or find a peaceful fishing spot on Hoogland’s bank in hopes of catching bass, bream, white perch, and catfish. Visitors can fish from piers surrounding the lake or from non-motorized boats. Kayaks and canoes are also welcome for your next water adventure.
Amenities
The campgrounds offer campfire pits, electricity, water, and road access, making your camping experience a breeze. Park guests can also enjoy covered pavilions, picnic tables, benches, and an RV park with full hookups and stunning views for the whole family.
The park also features fun for all ages with many kid-friendly activities. Legacy Park, located on-site at the campgrounds, is an accessible playground for kids of all capabilities. The beach and swimming areas are also a family-favorite, open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Lincoln Lights Up the Pines
The fun doesn’t stop after the summer months are over. Wintertime in the park welcomes the Lincoln Lights Up the Pines holiday lights display, where guests can drive through the park and see glorious lights decorate the trees. The Ruston community comes together to create this one-of-a-kind experience, as residents adorn their RV’s with intricate light displays and holiday decor for all to enjoy. The light show occurs on two weekends leading up to the December holidays and is a highly-anticipated event for Lincoln Parish residents and tourists.
