Back in 1992, childhood friends Mark Cumins and Jerry Scheer were in the process of opening a steakhouse in the historic heart of Charleston. They were surprised by the number of tourists and locals alike who dropped by to ask for recommendations for a place to go for high-quality desserts and coffee. So, they decided to take matters into their own hands and opened a dessert café inspired by the Old World bakeries of Europe and their Georgia hometowns, and one of Charleston’s best bakeries was born!
Voted Best Desserts in Charleston for more than 20 years, Kaminsky’s Dessert Café entices visitors into its cozy atmosphere with a rotating selection of delectable desserts made in-house daily, in addition to heaping milkshakes, specialty coffees, and cold beverage creations.
