Get ready for one of the Southeast’s favorite festivals: Mudbug Madness! Held in downtown Shreveport since 1984, this three-day celebration of food, music and fun is one of Louisiana’s largest Cajun festivals, and you won’t want to miss a minute of it.
It all starts with the music – two stages featuring nationally known Cajun, Zydeco, Blues and Jazz artists like Shenandoah, CheeWeez, Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience, and more! When you’re not dancin’ in the streets, you’ll want to check out the many fun competitions that Mudbug Madness is famous for, like the Crawfish Eating Contest and the annual Cornhole Tournament.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, check out the endless variety of downhome Cajun and Creole specialties from some of the top restaurants and food trucks in the area. We’re talking spicy po’boys and gumbo, sweet desserts and more! (Remember, it’s not Mudbug Madness until you’ve filled up on boiled crawfish and cold drinks!)
The fun runs every day from 11 am to 11 pm, and all events are free until 5 pm. After that, admission is just six dollars per person (kids under twelve are always free). Members of the Military get in free at all times with their Military ID. See y’all there!
