Welcome to The Local Palate Cookbook Club!

I’m so glad you’re here and joining us in our passion and excitement for cookbooks. While we share our love of great Southern cookbooks with our readers every chance we get, this space is made just for you. We’ll be curating cookbook news, author interviews that get behind the scenes of making cookbooks, round ups relevant for each season so you can keep tabs on which ones to buy, and, of course, lots of recipes. Your exclusive library of content, including hundreds of stories and recipes, is here to peruse and we’ll be sending out two emails a week to keep you plugged into what’s new. One of those, Cook the Book, will arrive each Saturday sharing a recipe of the week (ROTW) from a featured book, and we’d love for you to cook along with us and share your thoughts in the recipe comments. 

So, why a space dedicated to Southern cookbooks? Part of it stems from my own obsession with them. I love all books, but cookbooks first captured my heart when I was in high school. My father and I were living in a small rental apartment as I entered tenth grade. (Super long story short: We were in the middle of an international relocation and my mom and sister would be joining us later.)
