Photo by Christina Oxford Serves4-6 servings from KRUPS Ingredients 1 bottle of dry red wine¼ cup sugar2 tablespoons lemon juice ¼ cup orange juice Mulling spices (recipe follows) Mulling Spices3 ounces whole cinnamon sticks6 whole nutmegs, about 1 ounce ⅓ cup chopped dried orange peel⅓ cup chopped dried lemon peel¼ cup allspice berries¼ cup whole cloves2 Tablespoons finely chopped crystallized ginger, about 1 ounce Directions Mulling Spices Place cinnamon sticks and nutmegs into KRUPS grinder and grind. Place in a bowl and stir in orange peel, lemon peels, allspice, cloves, and ginger. Mulled Wine Combine wine & sugar in a non-reactive pot over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add in juices and the spice mixture. Heat until steaming but not boiling. Serve immediately or keep over low heat until ready to serve. Note: This is a great drink to serve out of a slow-cooker at a party!
