1 bottle of dry red wine
¼ cup sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
¼ cup orange juice
Mulling spices (recipe follows)
3 ounces whole cinnamon sticks
6 whole nutmegs
about 1 ounce
⅓ cup chopped dried orange peel
⅓ cup chopped dried lemon peel
¼ cup allspice berries
¼ cup whole cloves
2 Tablespoons finely chopped crystallized ginger
about 1 ounce

Mulling Spices
- Place cinnamon sticks and nutmegs into KRUPS grinder and grind.
- Place in a bowl and stir in orange peel, lemon peels, allspice, cloves, and ginger.
Mulled Wine
- Combine wine & sugar in a non-reactive pot over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Add in juices and the spice mixture. Heat until steaming but not boiling.
- Serve immediately or keep over low heat until ready to serve.
Note: This is a great drink to serve out of a slow-cooker at a party!
