Pujo Street Café, a long-standing restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Lake Charles, shares their recipe for a delightful Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce, a time-honored Southern comfort food. With hints of vanilla, the iconic dessert is enhanced by the mild sweetness of the white rum sauce. The result, a creamy dessert with an elevated feel, despite being simple to make. You can even reheat and enjoy for breakfast the next day! A few insider tips: Let the bread pudding mixture warm up to room temperature before baking for best results. We recommend using white rum from Bayou Rum, a Louisiana-based distiller using Louisiana sugarcane.
