Makes 1½ gallons, about 38 servings
1½ cups water
1½ cups sugar
6 basil leaves, torn
1 750 ml bottle Cathead vodka
1 cup fresh ginger juice
2 cups lemon juice
3 ¾ cups water
8 cups club soda
Lemon slices and candied ginger for garnish
For the basil syrup
For the punch
- Make the syrup: Combine water, sugar, and basil leaves in saucepan. Simmer over low heat until sugar dissolves. Cool and strain solids.
- Combine ingredients in pitcher. Serve in tall glasses with ice.
