Makes 1½ gallons, about 38 servings

    For the basil syrup
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 6 basil leaves, torn
  • For the punch
  • 1 750 ml bottle Cathead vodka
  • 1 cup fresh ginger juice
  • 2 cups lemon juice
  • 3 ¾ cups water
  • 8 cups club soda
  • Lemon slices and candied ginger for garnish
  1. Make the syrup: Combine water, sugar, and basil leaves in saucepan. Simmer over low heat until sugar dissolves. Cool and strain solids.
  2. Combine ingredients in pitcher. Serve in tall glasses with ice.
