    Indigo Road Cocktail
  • 2 – 3 apples sliced (your choice, Gala, Macintosh, or Fuji)
  • 2 ounces Apple Liquor
  • 1 cup fresh apple juice
  • 2 ounces lemon juice
  • 3 ounces Averna*
  • 2 ounces spiced simple syrup (recipe follows)
  • 2 cups sparkling wine
  • Spiced Simple Syrup
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves

  • Note: Averna is a popular Italian bitter liqueur where herbs, roots, and citrus rinds are soaked in a base liquor and then caramel is added.

Indigo Road Cocktail

  1. Add all ingredients to your favorite punch bowl. Stir and serve over ice.

Spiced Simple Syrup

  1. Combine all ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil.  Reduce heat and let simmer, allowing liquid to reduce for 45 minutes.
  2. Strain through a cheesecloth or coffee filter. Refrigerate.
