2 ounces Homemade Southern Comfort (recipe follows)
1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 ounce Cointreau
1/2 ounce simple syrup
3/4 ounce cranberry juice
1 (750 ml bottle) higher proof bourbon
1 vanilla bean, split
4 whole cloves
1/4 orange, cut into chunks
1/2 peach, cut into chunks
1 cinnamon stick
Homemade Southern Comfort
- For cocktail: Combine all ingredients in shaker, fill with ice, shake, and strain over fresh ice.
- For homemade Southern Comfort:
Pour bourbon into sealable wide-mouthed container, such as a Mason jar. Add remaining ingredients, and steep covered for 5 to 7 days. Strain liquid through a fine mesh sieve, then return it to jar, discarding all fruits and spices.
