  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon shortening
  • Warm water
  • Vegetable oil for brushing and frying
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  1. Combine flour, salt, and shortening in a bowl. Stir in enough warm water until a ball forms, and then knead until smooth. Pinch off a 2-inch ball of dough and roll out to ¼-inch thickness. Brush with vegetable oil and sprinkle with green onions. Roll into pinwheel and flatten to desired thinness (1/8- to ¼-inch). Repeat with rest of dough.
  2. Grease and heat skillet on medium to medium high heat. Place pancake in skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
