“I love the holidaysputting on a great record and eating all the things you only get to eat that time of year!” says Darius Rucker. In addition to his multiplatinum career as a musician, he knows how to put out an impressive spread for celebration. His recent partnership with wine label As One Cru serves to enhance a menu that includes the traditional Southern dishes that he says “feel like home—anything that’s comforting and you can go back for seconds in between quarters of the football games we have on all season long.” It’s also time for family: “Now that my kids are over 21, I love pouring a glass of wine and hearing about their lives.” Giving back is part of his holiday traditions, too; on Christmas morning, the family participates in feeding families in need with other members of their community.

1. Organic pasta

“I always have pasta in the house so we can throw together quick dinners when we can’t make it to FIG for the gnocchi,” Rucker says.

2. Wine

Rucker stocks a variety of wine for drop-in guests: “It’s why I love As One Cru—we have something for everyone.”

3. Cheese and charcuterie

I love a cheese and charcuterie board to have out and just graze on.”

4. Sweet potato pie

During Thanksgiving and Christmas, Rucker’s sisters make sure he gets to enjoy this seasonal treat.

5. Sushi

Rucker orders sushi takeout and opens a good bottle of wine when friends and family come over: “It’s what gets the good conversations going.”
