Charleston Wine + Food is turning up the heat with the highly anticipated return of its Summer Sizzle series – a lineup of curated culinary events designed to celebrate the flavors, culture, and community of Charleston all summer long.
Tickets for the limited-time series go on sale Thursday, April 17 at 11 AM ET at charlestonwineandfood.com.
Running from May through July, Summer Sizzle blends hands-on experiences, thought-provoking conversations, and festive outdoor gatherings – all anchored in the signature hospitality and flavor-forward storytelling that Charleston Wine + Food is known for.
Highlights of the series include:
● A Taste of Summer with Chef Michelle Weaver, May 29: Explore summer’s bounty during this educational cooking class with beloved Charleston chef Michelle Weaver, followed by a glass of wine and a meal made by your own two hands.
● A Southern Clambake, May 31: It’s New England meets the Lowcountry in this waterfront celebration hosted by Clammer Dave’s and Barrier Island Oyster Co– complete with local clams, corn, potatoes, and ice-cold beer.
● We The Pizza: A Conversation with Muhammad Abdul-Hadi, June 11: A powerful evening in conversation with the founder of Down North Pizza, celebrating the release of his debut cookbook and mission to create second chances through food.
● Costa Wine Lunch, June 12: Chef Vinson Petrillo hosts an elegant, Italian-inspired wine lunch at Costa, blending coastal charm with thoughtful hospitality and unforgettable flavors.
● Juneteenth Cookout presented by Black Expo + CHSWF, June 20: In collaboration with Black Expo, this vibrant outdoor gathering will honor Black creativity and community with food, music, and celebration.
● Beyond the Bottle, June 21: Go from grain to glass with High Wire Distilling Co., visiting the Jimmy Red Corn fields followed by a Southern picnic and whiskey tasting.
● Korean BBQ with Sarah’s Dumps, June 26: Get hands-on with Korean BBQ techniques, side dishes, and dumplings with Sarah + Nate Williams-Scalise of Sarah’s Dumps.
● Tortillas with Michael Toscano, June 28: Learn the art of tortilla-making with Chef Michael Toscano of Blanca Estrada Taqueria in a class that’s both delicious and deeply personal.
● Lillian’s Petit Market Signature Dinner, July 10: Celebrate Charleston’s summer mushroom bounty during this intimate, natural wine-paired dinner experience at Lillian’s.
● Finding Edna Lewis Screening + Conversation, July 23: Join culinary historian Deb Freeman for a screening of her new documentary Finding Edna Lewis, followed by a conversation with North Charleston’s own Amethyst Ganaway.
