Beer and Coffee Steak Marinade

A steak marinade often consists of spice and sweet, but the incorporation of espresso grounds and cayenne make this one unique.

    Ingredients
  • 12 ounces dark beer
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco
  • 1½ pounds sirloin steaks, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons finely ground espresso
  • 1 tablespoon pure chile powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne
  • Salt and pepper to taste
steps
  1. Mix beer, Worcestershire, and Tabasco in large freezer-weight zipper-lock bag. Put steaks in bag, seal, and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Remove steaks from marinade, pat dry and discard marinade. Mix remaining ingredients and rub spice mixture onto steaks.
  3. Grill steaks to desired temperature.
